In 2025 India has 69 Heritage sites 49 cultural, 17 natural, 3 mix site.
Selection Process Steps
• The country prepares a Tentative List of potential sites for nomination.
• A formal nomination dossier is submitted, demonstrating the site's value, integrity, and criteria met.
• Independent evaluation.
• The World Heritage Committee, an intergovernmental group, reviews and decides at an annual meeting.
