Khelo India 2025: Youth development in India
Khelo India game started from year 2018 in Delhi India growing progressively in the field of sport. Khelo India game started in 2025 from 4 may to 15 May at various locations of Bihar such as Patna, Rajgir, Gaya, Bhagalpur and Begusarai.
Sports Categories :- archery, badminton, basketball, athletic, boxing, cycling, football, gatka, fencing, gymnastic, hockey, judo, Kabaddi, kalaripayattu, Kho-Kho, mallakamb, rugby, sepatakraw, shooting, swimming, table tennis, tennis, thang-TA, volleyball, weight lifting, wrestling, yogasana.
In India there are over 1000 khelo India centre established across the country. These centre provide training, equipment to the athletes.
Holistic Development through sports
Sports play important role in holistic Development by promoting physical health, mental health, discipline, teamwork and leadership. In India game's like khelo India encourage youth for their development. As well as fit India movement aim to integrate sports into education.
Khelo India and school participation
There are many school preparing their students for KIYG.
Students under the age of 17 are eligible to participate in the khelo India youth game. Selection begins at school level through School Game Federation of India. Top performer represent their state in games.
Career pathway and government support to athelete
• Selected athlete receives scholarship of 6.28 lakh per annum for 8 year.
• Athletes can get admission to institute like national sports University and other sports science institute.
• Athletes may get chance to train in abroad for international tournaments.
• Government support for infrastructure development, coaching and mentoring, education support, job opportunities.
